This advertisement is from the Marvel comic Excalibur #1, published in October of 1988. I remember another controller like this liscenced by Nintendo, but I do not remember the Camerica wireless version. The Freedom Stick was approved by the U.S. National Video Game Team. I wasn’t aware we had one… but whatever. In this video Donn might be using the Freedom Stick with his Gradius tip.
Yeah, this looks like the NES Advantage, but it doesn’t have the Slow Motion feature.
Nice close-up of the seal of endorsement by the US NVGT. It would have been interesting to see how that claim of “superior play value” held up against that of the Glove in The Wizard (Fred Savage & Co.)
