I might’ve told this story already but once when I was young we were driving along a highway with a guard-rail and an embankment of about 45 degrees and maybe a >15ft drop to the fields below. A white-tailed deer charged up the embankment, jumped the guard-rail and ran in front of our mini-van, breaking the radiator grill severely in the process.
While no one in the vehicle was hurt this apparently killed the deer, but before it died it somehow managed to jump back over the rail it had first come over and get down the embankment.
We’ve had two deer hits over the years. One smashed the grill, and one smashed the front windshield. Be careful this time of year (mating season.)
