Cactus looks a little fuzzy, but nice technique covering the flash.
I’ve tried that a few times with our digital camera. In close up photos it can give things an orange caste since the flash is bright enough to actually shine some light through the flesh of my fingers, causing the light to be slightly colored by the presence of my blood I assume.
Could also be the fact that when your camera uses its flash, it sets the white balance to daylight/flash. However, the flash light isn’t there, so the ambient light makes it into the exposure, which is mostly indoor light, i.e. tungsten. Tungsten lighting shot using daylight/flash balance will end up looking yellow/orange.
