I bought three color filters for my camera. A red one, a green one, and a blue one. I then took three black and white photos, one with each filter, scanned the negatives, and combined them in photoshop. After aligning them, I colored them the appropriate color and ended up with the above picture.
Kind of nerdy, completely inefficient, but kind of fun.

How much coloring did you have to do to get an approximation to the original colors? In other words, how close was the tri-photo to the original colors by just combining the three filtered photos?
Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? Took me maybe 2 mins to take the pictures and about 2 in Photoshop.
As far as adjusting the color balance, I didn’t. Just set each of the three pictures to red, green, and blue and combined them, and the right colors popped out. The Technicolor process was kind of similar to this.
Very interesting! I recognize the blue towel and know that it is a true color.
